BAM7 NZ QUALIFIER

After the success of out first Australian qualifier last year, we are back with another opportunity to send NZ's best fighting game players over to Australia and represent us at BAM7.

The 7th iteration of Battle Arena Melbourne is testament to the strength of the community and the Tournament Organizers.

This year we have been lucky enough to secure a venue that is befitting an event of this manner.

Mighty Ape‚Äč have come on board and are allowing us to host our qualifier.

For those of you who have been living under a rock, Mighty Ape is one of New Zealand's biggest online retailer, mainly focusing on all things Video Game, they also stock a whole bunch of pop culture goodness.

April 25th was our original date, but after reviewing the calendar dates, we felt that the date should be kept to the people who fought for it so we have moved the event to the following weekend. I hope this does not deter anybody from coming. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

So without further adieu:

Date: Saturday May 2
Time: Doors Open at 10am. Tournaments start at 10:30am
Venue: Mighty Ape HQ, 1 Rothwell Avenue, Rosedale, Auckland (The Pickup Area)
Cost: $30

GAMES:
Ultra Street Fighter 4
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Super Smash Bros. WiiU

Registrations go here:
http://www.standingfierce.com/forum/vie ... f=1&t=1316

ONLINE REGISTRATIONS CLOSE 10:00PM FRIDAY 1ST OF MAY
ON THE DAY REGISTRATIONS FOR ALL GAMES CLOSES AT 11:00AM

If you guys have any questions just post below

DISCLAIMER: If we do not reach a minimum of 16 people per tournament, we will not be running the game at the qualifier event and we will not be sending anyone over for that particular game.

Spectators are always welcome bro and no door fee, so come on down. Bring the whole family if you want. Mighty Ape are giving away spot prizes on the day so you could walk away with something just for turning up.

Looking forward to meeting you all a little better than I did at First Blood! And go up against at least one of you in competition. First competition level engagement.

Will you allow one CPS2/Dreamcast casual setup if I bring along some dope monitors for your use? :D

Are there controller restrictions on any of the games?
What are the viable controllers usable for Smash 4?

Yup, there will be 2 or 3 streams running at this event. More details closer to the event.

Normally I'd say yeah, but due to this being our first time with Mighty Ape, we're just going to stick with current gen consoles and games only this time.

As much as I'd love to have some old CPS2/DC games there :(

Sorry Stu, cheers for the offer though

Hey bro,

the main restriction on controllers is that they must be wired, the 2nd is that there is to be no use of turbo/macro button options.

Cheers.
